Finnish flat bread

Measure Ingredient
1½ cup All-purpose flour
¾ cup Whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons Sugar
1½ teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Baking soda
¼ cup Shortening
1 cup Buttermilk

In a bowl, combine flours, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Add milk and mix just until dough is moistened. Knead on floured board for 3-5 minutes. Pat onto an ungreased 12-in. pizza pan. Bake at 350 deg. for 30 minutes or until golden. Cool for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack. Cut into pieces. Yield: 6-8 servings Recipe By : Taste of Home
