Fig and apple compote

1Lemon; Juice of
1cupApple juice
2largesTart apples; chopped, peeled and cored
½cupLarge chopped dried figs
1largeStick cinnamon; broken into pieces
½teaspoonFreshly grated nutmeg
1teaspoonVanilla
¼cupHoney

Directions

Bring juice of lemon and apple juice to boil in saucepan. Add apples, dried figs, and honey. Stir in cinnamon and nutmeg and simmer uncovered until thick. Add vanilla and stir. Serve warm. Formatted by Olivia Liebermann.
