Denver biscuits

Quantity | Ingredient | |

2 | cups | Milk |
½ | cup | Sugar |
½ | teaspoon | Soda |
½ | teaspoon | Salt |
1 | teaspoon | Baking powder |
5 | cups | Flour |
2 | packs | Yeast |
½ | cup | Shortening |
Mix yeast, sugar and shortening in warm milk. Add 2 cups flour, mix well and let rise 1 hour in warm place. Add the rest of the flour, salt, soda and baking powder. Roll out on floured surface. Cut biscuits and place in pan. Let rise 1 to 2 hours before baking. Bake at 350 F until done.
