Cumin meatballs

Measure Ingredient
1 can (16 oz) plum tomatoes
1 \N Onion; chopped
2 \N Cloves garlic; minced
1¼ teaspoon Ground cumin
\N \N Salt & pepper
1 tablespoon Plus 1tsp oil
¼ teaspoon Red pepper flakes
1 \N Egg; lightly beaten
1½ pounds Ground beef
1 cup Dry bread crumbs
2½ tablespoon Milk
1 bunch Fresh coriander

Puree tomatoes w/ liquid in food processor. Saute onion, garlic, 1/4tsp cumin & 1/2tsp salt in 1tbsp oil til onion is soft, 2-3min. Add tomato puree and red pepper flakes. Simmer over low heat, partly covered, 30min.

In large bowl, mix egg, beef, bread crumbs, milk, 1/2tsp pepper, 3/4tsp salt & 1tsp cumin. Shape in 1" balls. Cook meatballs in 1tsp oil til browned all over, 10-15min. Top each meatball w/ a coriander leaf, spear w/ toothpick & serve w/ sauce. makes about 75. Cal: 29 Pro:2g Fat:2g Sod:48g Carb:1g
