Cool bean salad with cholla buds

2cupsCooked, drained garbanzo beans
2cupsCooked, drained green beans
2cupsCooked, drained pink or red beans
½cupChopped green peppers (opt)
½cupChopped onions (opt)
1cupDe-spined, cooked, drained cholla cactus buds
cupSugar
2cupsCider vinegar to taste
cupSalad oil (Puritan or olive oil)
1teaspoonPepper
½teaspoonSalt

Directions

In large bowl, dissolve sugar and salt in vinegar. Add pepper and salad oil. Add drained beans and cholla buds, onions and green peppers, turning and mixing well. Let stand in covered bowl, chilling in refrigerator for 24 hours, turning at least once.
