Cinnamon apple dumplings

Measure Ingredient
6 cups Chopped apples
1¼ cup Sugar
1¼ cup Water
½ teaspoon Cinnamon
1 cup Flour
2 tablespoons Sugar
2 teaspoons Baking powder
¼ teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Cinnamon
\N \N Nutmeg; (optional)
1 \N Egg
⅓ cup Milk

Boil apples, 1¼ cups sugar, water and ½ teaspoon cinnamon. Mix and add by spoonfuls the batter consisting of flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, baking powder, salt, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg, egg and milk. Cover and steam for 20 minutes. Do not peek. Delicious with milk or ice cream on top.
