4 cups | Powdered sugar |
½ cup | Margarine |
¼ cup | White syrup |
1 \N | Jar maraschino cherries |
1 pounds | Box semi-sweet baking |
\N \N | Chocolate |
¾ teaspoon | Melted paraffin |
Cream together sugar, margarine and syrup. Cut cherries in half. Make creamed mixture into walnut sized portions. Make a thumbprint hole in each and place a cherry half inside, then work into a ball and chill. In a double boiler melt chocolate and paraffin. Dip chilled ball into chocolate.
Place on waxed paper or into tiny fluted candy cups and refrigerate.
NOTES : These are as near to purchased chocolate covered cherries that I have ever found.
