2 cups | Cheddar cheese, finely grated (8 oz) |
½ cup | Butter, soft |
½ teaspoon | Salt (optional) |
1 dash | Cayenne |
2 tablespoons | Chives, finely chopped |
1½ cup | Flour |
Combine cheese, butter, salt, cayenne and chives. Add flour and mix until a smooth dough forms. Divide dough in half and shape each half into a log, about 1" in diameter. Wrap in waxed paper and chill at least 1 hour. Slice into ⅛" slices and bake on lightly greased sheets at 350 for 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes 48 slices. T. Grant, HWWK11b
