Cereal-peanut bars

Yield: 24 Servings

Measure Ingredient
½ cup Light corn syrup
¼ cup Brown sugar
1 dash Salt
1 cup Peanut butter
1 teaspoon Vanilla
3 cups Crisp rice cereal
1 pack (6-oz) semisweet chocolate pieces

submitted by: hunterd@... (Sandra, Michigan) Combine ½ cup light corn syrup, ¼ cup brown sugar, and dash salt in saucepan. Bring to full boil. Stir in 1 cup peanut butter. Remove from heat. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla, 3 cups crisp rice cereal, and one 6-ounce package (1 cup) semisweet chocolate pieces. Press into buttered 9x9x2-inch pan. Chill 1 hour. Cut in bars; store in refrigerator. Makes 2 dozen bars.
