Measure | Ingredient |

4 cups | Grated carrots |
1 tablespoon | Fine barley |
¾ cup | Grated apples |
8 tablespoons | Butter or fat |
½ cup | Water |
½ teaspoon | Salt |
2 teaspoons | Sugar |
¼ teaspoon | Nutmeg |
