Brigitte's fruit salad

Yield: 4 servings

Measure Ingredient
2 Apples, peeled & sliced thin
2 Oranges, peeled & sliced
2 Bananas peeled & sliced thin
1 small Can Mandarin Oranges
Marachino cherries
2 Egg whites
3 tablespoons Sugar
2 tablespoons Thinly sliced almonds
1 tablespoon Rum

Beat the eggwhites with the sugar until very stiff. Arrange all the fruits and the almonds into 4 ovenproof dishes. Sprinkle the rum over each dish and heap the eggwhite mixture ontop of the fruit. Broil for a couple of minutes until the eggwhite/meringue is firm.
