Bohemian stew

Yield: 10 servings

Measure Ingredient
2½ pounds Beef stew meat
Oil for frying
2 cups Chopped carrots
2 cups Chopped celery
3 Onions, cut up
3 tablespoons Tapioca
1 tablespoon Sugar
1 can Tomatoes (28 oz size)
1 cup Diced potatoes
2 Bay leaves
½ cup Frozen peas
1 tablespoon Salt
½ teaspoon Pepper
¾ cup Hot water

Preheat oven to 250 deg. Brown stew meat in hot oil. Remove from oil and combine with all other ingredients into heavy pot. Bake covered at 250 degrees F for five hours, stirring occasionally. Serve with dumplings or boiled potatoes or buttered noodles.
