Measure | Ingredient |

2 cups | Vegetable or chicken stock or water |
¼ teaspoon | Salt |
1 cup | Pot or pearl barley |
Basics for new cooks:
In saucepan, bring water and salt to boil over high heat; stir in barley.
Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer for 40 minutes or until tender and liquid has evaporated. Makes about 3 cups, or 4 servings.
