Aunt annie's sponge cake^

Measure Ingredient
4 Eggs
1 cup Sugar
4 tablespoons Cold water
1 cup Flour
1 tablespoon Cornstarch
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Vanilla

Separate eggs. beat egg yolks with sugar. Add water and mix well.

Stir in flour, cornstarch, baking powder and vanilla and stir until well blended. Beat egg whites until stiff. gently fold in to batter.

Bake in a moderate oven. Very good! Many of the recipes in this collection did not contain amounts or oven temperatures. I have typed them in as they appear in the book, typos and all.
