Ingredients

| 5 | cups | Brown sugar |
| 1 | teaspoon | Cayenne |
| 2 | teaspoons | Ginger |
| 1 | tablespoon | White mustard seed |
| 1 | teaspoon | Cinnamon |
| 1 | teaspoon | Turmeric |
| 1 | teaspoon | Salt |
| 12 | Tart pears (peeled & finely | |
| Chopped) | ||
| 3 | larges | Yellow onions (as above) |
| 12 | Green tomatoes (as above) | |
Directions
Place first 8 ingredients in large kettle & bring to boil. Cook for 5 minutes & add remaining ingredients. Reduce heat & simmer over low heat for 30 minutes. Pack chowchow into sterile jars. Seal & process in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes.
