Special butter cookies

Yield: 3 Servings

Measure Ingredient
2 cups Softened unsalted butter
2 cups Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tablespoon Vanilla
½ teaspoon Salt
5 cups Sifted all purpose flour

(Makes about 3½ dozen.)

Preheat oven to 375 deg. Using electric mixer, cream butter and sugar until light. Mix in eggs, vanilla and salt. Using spoon, stir in flour. Transfer dough to cookie press fitted with ribbon attachment.

Press dough onto ungreased baking sheets in 10-inch-long strips. Bake until golden brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Transfer to racks and cool.

Store in airtight container.
