|1 cup||Shortening (half butter)|
|1 cup||Confectioners sugar|
|1 \N||2 teapoons peppermint|
|1½ teaspoon||Green food coloring|
Heat oven to 375. Mix shortening, sugar, egg & flavoring thoroughly.
Stir in flour, salt & coloring. To shape shamrocks, roll 3 small balls (¼ tsp. dough each); flatten together with fingertip into sharmrock shape; shape stem & attach. Sprinkle with green sugar.
Complete cookies one at a time. Bake 9 minutes.
