Savory clam toasts

Ingredients

3tablespoonsButter
1smallOnion, finely chopped
½Green pepper, seeded and finely chopped
ounceCan chopped clams, drained
1cupGrated Cheddar cheese
1tablespoonTomato poaste
1tablespoonWorcestershire sauce a tb dry sherry
teaspoonCayenne pepper
1Dill pickle, thinly sliced
4slicesHot buttered toast

Directions

Melt butter, add onion and green pepper; saute for 3 minutes. Add clams, grated cheese, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, sherry and cayenne pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until cheese melts. Place a pickle slice on each slice of toast; spoon clam mixture on top.
