Savory clam toasts

Ingredients

| 3 | tablespoons | Butter |
| 1 | small | Onion, finely chopped |
| ½ | Green pepper, seeded and finely chopped | |
| 6½ | ounce | Can chopped clams, drained |
| 1 | cup | Grated Cheddar cheese |
| 1 | tablespoon | Tomato poaste |
| 1 | tablespoon | Worcestershire sauce a tb dry sherry |
| ⅛ | teaspoon | Cayenne pepper |
| 1 | Dill pickle, thinly sliced | |
| 4 | slices | Hot buttered toast |
Directions
Melt butter, add onion and green pepper; saute for 3 minutes. Add clams, grated cheese, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, sherry and cayenne pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until cheese melts. Place a pickle slice on each slice of toast; spoon clam mixture on top.
