Port poached pears

Yield: 1 Servings

Measure Ingredient
1 quart Port
6 Pears
1 quart Vanilla ice cream

Pour port into a large kettle. Bring just to boiling, turn heat to low, and simmer 5-10 minutes. Peel, core, and halve pears and place in simmering port. Simmer 10 minutes, remove from heat. Allow to steep in wine at least 20 minutes. To serve: place scoop ice cream in bowl, add pears, spoon port over ice cream & pear. Enjoy
