With the machine running, drop garlic through the feed tube of a food processor. Add pumpkin seeds and basil leaves and process until pureed. Add a little water if necessary to get the mixture going.
Turn off machine, add cheese, then turn machine on and pour olive oil in slowly through feed tube until oil is thoroughly incorporated and a smooth paste is formed. Serve on top of soup.
