Picnic cake

Measure Ingredient
¾ cup Butter
2¼ cup Sugar
3 Eggs
3⅜ cup Flour
3 teaspoons Baking powder
¾ teaspoon Salt
1½ cup Milk
2 teaspoons Vanilla
12 Marshmallows
¾ cup Chopped walnuts
¾ cup Packed brown sugar.

TOPPING

(needs no refrigeration), Oven 350 degrees, pan 9 x 13 buttered and floured, time 40-50 mins.

Cream ¾ cup butter and 2¼ cup sugar. Add 3 eggs, beating after each addition. Sift together 3 ⅜ cup flour 3 tsp baking powder ¾ tsp salt. Combine 1 ½ cup milk, 2 tsp vanilla. Add the flour mixture alternately w/ the milk mixture to the butter/sugar/eggs, beating well after each addition. Pour into prepared pan. Cut 12 marshmallows in half, and place on top of batter. Sprinkle top of cake w/ mixture of :

¾ cup chopped walnuts

¾ cup packed brown sugar. Dust this mixture off of marshmallows to prevent burning. Bake as directed above.
