¾ cup Unsalted butter
6 cups Sliced peaches or apples
3 cups Sugar
1½ cup All-purpose flour
1½ teaspoon Baking powder
½ teaspoon Salt
¾ teaspoon Cinnamon
1½ cup Milk
⅔ teaspoon Vanilla extract

In a 9 x 13-inch glass dish melt the butter. In a large bowl combine the fruit and 1-½ cups of sugar. In a separate bowl sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Add the remaining milk, 1-½ cups sugar and vanilla to the dry ingredients, mixing well. Stir the batter into the butter in the prepared dish. Top with the fruit mixture. Bake in a preheated 350F oven for 35 minutes. Increase temperature to 400F and bake until golden around the edges.

Serve warm with cream on top for breakfast, or with an ice cream topping for a dinner dessert.
