Onion smothered brisket

Measure Ingredient
2 tablespoons Garlic powder
2 tablespoons Paprika
1 teaspoon Pepper
1 \N Brisket; 5 to 6 pounds
¼ cup Vegetable oil
2 pounds Onions; sliced

Mix garlic powder,paprika and pepper and rub into brisket.Heat oil in Dutch oven and sear brisket on all sidesRemove and set aside.Saute onions in Dutch oven.Replace brisket and cover totally with onions.Cover tightly and place in 275 deg.oven for 3½ to 4 hours.
