Mince filling (for pies)

Yield: 1 Servings

Measure Ingredient
4 cups Diced green tomatoes (about 1 1/4 pounds)
4 cups Peeled diced tart apples (about 1 1/2 pounds)
1 cup Raisins
½ cup Honey
½ cup Molasses
¼ cup Cider vinegar
½ teaspoon Nutmeg
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
½ teaspoon Salt
\N \N (original also called for 2 tablespoons oil--omitted)

Combine all ingredients in a 3-5 quart saucepan and simmer 25 minutes. Put into sterilized warm pint jars leaving ¼ inch space at the top. Process in a steam canner or boiling water bath for 10 minutes.

makes 3 pints.

To use: pour 1 pint into an 8 inch baking dish and cover top with pastry.

Bake at 400 for 12-15 minutes until brown and serve warm.
