Mattie's jam cake

Measure Ingredient
2½ cup Brown sugar
4 cups Flour
2 cups Jam
3 teaspoons Cinnamon
2 teaspoons Nutmeg
15 ounces Raisins
1 x Figs and dates as desired
2 cups Sour milk
¾ cup Butter
2 teaspoons Baking soda
2 teaspoons Cloves
3 eaches Eggs, lg
1 cup Nutmeats

Mix all ingredients together well except jam. Lastly, gently stir in the 2c jam. Pour into greased and floured 9" round cake pans. Bake in 325 degree oven for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. If desired, serve caramel icing.
