Maraschino cherry bar

Yield: 12 servings

Measure Ingredient
2¼ cup All purpose flour
½ teaspoon Salt
½ cup Granulated sugar
½ teaspoon Vanilla
1 cup Butter
4 ounces Maraschino cherries
2 eaches Eggs
½ cup Nuts
1 cup Brown sugar
1 tablespoon Butter
½ teaspoon Baking powder
1 cup Confectioners sugar

Mix flour, sugar and butter until crumbly. Pat into 9 x 13 inch pan evenly. Bake for 20 minutes until lightly brown. Combine eggs, brown sugar, baking powder, salt and vanilla. Drain cherries. Save the juice. Chop the cherries, add cherries and nuts to egg mixture. Pout over crust and return to oven for 25 minutes. Cover the last 10-15 minutes to prevent burning. Combine butter and confectioners sugar.

Add maraschino juice, enough to make frosting thin enough to pour.

Pour over pan after cooked.
