Macaroni with ham & asparagus

| 2 | cups | Asparagus tips and stems steamed (1\" pieces,tender only)(fresh only) |
| ¼ | cup | Butter |
| 2 | Med onions chopped | |
| ½ | pounds | Ham diced |
| 1 | cup | Heavy cream |
| Salt and pepper to taste | ||
| 1 | pounds | Macaroni cooked according to directions |
| Grated cheese (parmigiana) | ||
Directions
Saute onions in butter until pale in color. Add asparagus and ham and saute for 2 min. Keep heat low and add heavy cream. After 30 seconds turn OFF heat.(don`t get the cream too hot or it will separate). Pour over hot cooked pasta and toss with cheese. Serve with extra cheese on the side.
