½ cup | Coconut, shredded |
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Grease a 13" x 9" pan. Cream sugar, butter and egg until fluffy; add orange peel. Combine flour, salt and baking powder with liquid; pour into pan. For topping, beat egg whites until very stiff. Add sugar and beat until very stiff. Fold in coconut, spread over batter. Bake 30-40 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
