½teaspoonDried lemon peel, or freshly grated to taste
½teaspoonGround cardamon
3cupsAll-purpose flour
2teaspoonsRapid or Quick yeast
½cupDried fruits (raisins, cherries)
¼cupChopped almonds (up to 1/2)
1EGG beaten with:
2tablespoonsMilk OR cream

Source: HOLIDAY BREADS - Donna German VI Add dried fruits/nuts to the abm pan 5 min. after kneading starts. Remove dough from abm. Divide into 3 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope and braid ropes together. Place braid on lightly greased baking pan.

Cover, let rise about 1-½ hours. Brush dough with EGG WASH Bake in preheated 350° oven 25-30 min. Till golden.
