Measure | Ingredient |

1 pounds | Beef stew meat; cut in 1-1/2 inch cubes |
½ pounds | Onions; sliced |
6 cups | Beef broth |
3 tablespoons | Tomato paste |
3 tablespoons | Paprika |
\N \N | Salt & pepper to taste |
1 dash | Garlic powder |
3 tablespoons | Shortening |
1 \N | Green pepper; sliced |
Saute onions in shortening until tender. Brown beef; stir in remaining ingredients. Cover & simmer about 1-½ hours or until meat is tender. If soup is too thin, stir in 1 tablespoon cornstarch dissolved in ¼ cup water. Add green pepper ½ hour before serving.
