Hot milk sponge cake (jvb)

Yield: 1 Servings

Measure Ingredient
2 cups Cake flour
2 teaspoons Baking powder
½ teaspoon Salt
4 \N Eggs
2 teaspoons Vanilla
2 cups Sugar
1 cup Milk
2 tablespoons Butter

~Sift flour, baking powder & salt together.

~Beat eggs and vanilla together; then gradually add sugar and continue beating until mixture becomes light and lemon coloured.

~Blend dry ingredients into creamed mixture. Bring milk and butter to the boiling point; then quickly stir into batter. Blend well.

~Pour quickly into a 13x9x2" baking pan -- greased & floured on the bottom only. Bake 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes {Source: From Amish and Mennonite Kitchens}
