Measure Ingredient
1 cup Shortening
2 cups Packed brown sugar
2 \N Eggs
½ cup Coffee, cold
3½ cup Flour
1 teaspoon Baking soda
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Nutmeg
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
2½ cup Raisins
1¼ cup Nuts

Mix together shortening, sugar, and eggs. Stir in coffee. Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture. Stir in nuts and raisins. Chill for 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Drop rounded teaspoonsful about 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake about 8-10 minutes, just until set.
