Green tomatoe pie filling

Ingredients

3quartsPeeled, chopped tart apples
1poundsDark seedless raisins
1poundsWhite raisins
¼cupCitron, lemon, or orange
Peel.
2cupsWater
cupBrown sugar
cupWhite sugar
½cupWhite vinegar, 5%
1cupBottled lemon juice
2tablespoonsGround cinnamon
1teaspoonGround nutmeg
1teaspoonGround cloves

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a large suacepan. Cook slowly, stirring often, until tender and slightly thickened (abt. 35-40 min.). Fill jars with hot mixture, leaving ½ " headspace. Adjust lids and process.

Boiling water bath: 25 minutes for quarts.
