Gingerbread boys

½ | cup | Shortening |
½ | cup | Sugar |
½ | cup | Molasses, light |
½ | tablespoon | Vinegar |
1 | Egg; beaten | |
3 | cups | Flour, all-purpose |
½ | teaspoon | Salt |
½ | teaspoon | Soda |
½ | teaspoon | Ginger, ground |
½ | teaspoon | Cinnamon, ground |
Chocolate, semisweet morsels |
Bring shortening,, sugar, molasses, and vinegar to a boil; cool. Add beaten eggs. Combine flour, salt, soda, ginger, and cinnamon; add to liquid mixture. Mix well and chill. Roll to ⅛" thickness on lightly floured board. Follow a pattern or use a cookie cutter ot shape gingerbread boys. Use chocolate morsels for eyes, nose, mouth, and buttons. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
