1 | cup | Sugar, divided |
1 | Lemon, grated and squeezed | |
Small piece of butter |
Directions
Beat the egg whites very stiff. Gradually add ½ of the sugar. Then in a saucepan, beat up the 3 yolks, add the other ½ cup sugar, lemon juice, rind and butter and cook until thick, stirring constantly. Add the beaten white mixture. Put into a crust and bake until set. Brown under fire or broiler.
