Chanterelle sorbet

Measure Ingredient
1 cup Sugar
1 quart Water
1 cup Mashed chanterelles
1 tablespoon Fresh lemon juice
\N \N Optional dessert wine*

Recipe by: San Jose Mercury News 1-7-98 *Optional ingredient: semi-sweet white dessert wine such as late harvest riesling; decrease sugar and water proportionally. Heat the water until the sugar melts. Put the chanterelles and cooled liquid in a blender until mushrooms are completely mashed. After adding wine, if included, put in an ice cream maker until done.
