Yield: 2 servings
|⅔ cup||White corn syrup|
|1¼ cup||Brown sugar|
|⅔ cup||Evaporated milk|
|2 teaspoons||Caramel flavor|
Combine first four ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirrin occasionally, until mixture comes to a boil and all of the sugar is dissolved. REmove from heat and cool slightly just until mixture begins to thicken. Slowly whisk in evaporated milk until blended. Stir in Caramel flavor; mix well. Pour into desired containers. Keep refrigerated. Makes 2 cups, 1 tbsp per serving.
Serve with ice cream, cake, or apple and pear wedges. Can be served hot or cold. To serve hot, reheat in top of double boiler or in microwave. Refrigerate any leftovers. Origin: Watkins Food Gifts Cookbook Shared by: Sharon Stevens, Sept/94.
