Capellini with ham & walnuts

4 tablespoons OLIVE OIL
½ cup WALNUTS, FINELY CHOPPED
¼ teaspoon GARLIC POWDER
¼ pounds THINLY SLICED HAM *
½ pounds CAPELLINI PASTA
½ teaspoon FRESH GROUND BLACK PEPPER
teaspoon SALT
cup FRESH GRATED PARMESAN CHEESE
¼ cup FINELY MINCED PARSLEY

* HAM, CUT INTO FINE SHREDS, ABOUT FOUR SLICES.

----------------------------------------------------- BOIL WATER IN A LARGE POT FOR THE PASTA. IN A LARGE SKILLET, HEAT THE OLIVE OIL OVER MEDIUM HEAT. ADD THE WALNUTS AND GARLIC POWDER, SAUTE FOR 3 MINUTES. STIR IN THE HAM AND SAUTE FOR 2 MINUTES. KEEP WARM.

PUT THE PASTA IN THE BOILING WATER AND COOK FOR 3 TO 5 MINUTES.

DRAIN AND POUR BACK INTO THE HOT PAN. STIR IN THE PEPPER, SALT, PARMESAN AND PARSLEY. SERVE IMMEDIATELY.
