Braised red onions

| 1 | ounce | Butter/margarine |
| 4 | larges | Red onions, thinly sliced |
| Salt & freshly ground black pepper | ||
Directions
Melt the butter in heavy-based pot over a moderate heat. Add the onions & cook gently till translucent. Season, then cover & simmer over a very low heat for 20 minutes. Stir & transfer to a warmed serving dish.
