Yield: 24 Servings
|½ pounds||Butter; NOT margarine|
|5½ tablespoon||Confectioner's sugar|
|1¼ cup||All-purpose flour|
|½ teaspoon||Almond extract|
|1 cup||Powdered sugar|
|1 tablespoon||Butter; melted|
|2 tablespoons||Lemon juice|
|½ teaspoon||Lemon zest|
COOKIES Cream butter and sugar well. Sift in flour and cornstarch and mix together. Add flavoring; chill overnight. Shape into balls about the size of walnuts and place on a greased baking sheet. Flatten the balls with bottom of a small glass which has been dampened. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Do not brown cookies. Makes 24 cookies.
LEMON GLAZE Beat all ingredients together. While the cookies are still warm, gently remove from cookie sheet and spread with the glaze.
