Vanilla evaporated ice milk

Yield: 4 Servings

Measure Ingredient
\N \N ICE CREAM COOKBOOK-----
3 quarts Evaporated milk (6 cans)
3 tablespoons Vanilla
2 teaspoons Salt
3 cups Sugar

Dissolve the sugar in 2 quarts of milk and heat almost to the boiling point. Remove from heat. Chill, add remaining ingredients and freeze.

This is an inexpensive base for a strongly flavored ice cream such as chocolate.
