15 ounces | Molasses |
1 cup | Oil |
2 \N | Eggs, beaten |
1 cup | Sugar |
½ teaspoon | Baking soda |
1 teaspoon | Salt |
1 tablespoon | Pepper |
½ cup | Grated orange rind |
6 cups | Flour, plus 1 cup if needed |
1 cup | Filberts, sliced |
Mix molasses, oil, eggs, suagr, baking soda, salt, pepper, and orange rind.
Blend well. Add flour to form a dough that can be rolled. Oil fingers, tale pieces of dough and roll like a pencil. Shape roll into a 4-5" S shape.
Place a sliced filbert on top and bottom of S. Bake on ungreased cooked sheet 375 degrees for about 15 minutes, until brown.
