Spooned halvah

1 | cup | Cream of wheat |
½ | cup | Chopped nuts or pignolia nuts (optional) |
2 | cups | Water |
1 | cup | Sugar |

Melt butter in a deep pan; add cream of what and nuts. With wooden spoon stir over moderate heat until golden, about 10 minutes.
Meanwhile bring water and sugar to a slow boil.. Cook 3 minutes. Pour syrup slowly over cream of what and simmer, stirring until slightly thickened. Remove from heat. Cover; let stand 10 minutes. Shape with individual molds turn out onto plates and sprinkle with cinnamon. OR, fill ungreased 9 inch square pan and sprinkle with cinnamon. Cut into sqaures and serve.
I believe this is called spooned halva because in the villages in Greece they use a spoon to shape the halva.
