8 ounces | Can water-packed artichokes drained |
4 ounces | Can sliced black olives, drained |
8 ounces | Can tomato sauce |
1 teaspoon | Italian herb mix |
place the beans in a large pot with the water. cover and cook over medium heat for 1 hour. add the onion and garlic and continue to cook until the beans are tender, 1 to 1½ hours. add the potatoes and cook another 20 min. add the remaining ingredients and cook for about 10 more min.
note: if you soak the beans overnight, the total cooking time may be reduced by 30 min.
