½ teaspoon | Cloves |
½ teaspoon | Cinnamon |
½ teaspoon | Nutmeg |
½ teaspoon | Chili powder |
3 teaspoons | Sugar |

Put beans into large pot and cover with 3 inches of water. Add all ingredients except the sugar and cook until done. Add the sugar. I like to throw in some Linguica sausage when I have it.
