2 cans | (16-oz. each) sliced pears or pear halves, in heavy syrup, drained |
1 tablespoon | Minced. crystallized ginger |
⅔ cup | Rolled oats |
⅓ cup | Packed light brown sugar |
¼ cup | All-purpose flour |
½ teaspoon | Ground ginger |
¼ cup | Butter; cut into small pieces |
TOPPING
Heat oven to 400. Arrange pears in a shallow 1½-quart baking dish; sprinkle with crystallized ginger. Combine, oats, brown sugar, flour and ground ginger in food processor bowl. With motor running, gradually add butter and process until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle topping mixture evenly over pears. Bake in center of oven until topping is lightly browned and crisp, 20 to 25 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt.
