Pam's cheese stuffed peppers

Ingredients

| 4 | smalls | Green peppers, washed | 
| ¼ | pounds | Sharp Cheddar cheese, in 1/4 inch cubes | 
| ¼ | pounds | Swiss cheese, in 1/4 inch cubes | 
| ¼ | pounds | Gruyere cheese, in 1/4 inch cubes | 
| 1 | small | Tomato, in 4 slices | 
| 1 | tablespoon | Packaged dry bread crumbs | 
| 1 | teaspoon | Melted butter | 
| ½ | teaspoon | Dried basil leaves | 
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 F.
2. in boiling water ( 2 inches deep in a 3 quart saucepan, pasboil peppers until tender - 10 minutes.
3. Drain peppers; cut off tops; remove seeds. Place standing upright, on lightly greased baking dish.
4. Stuff peppers with the three kinds of cheese cubes, dividing evenly. Top each pepper with a tomato slice, then sprinkle with bread crumbs tossed with melted butter and basil. Bake 20 minutes or until hot and cheese is melted.
