Molasses devil's food cake

Ingredients

cup Shortening
cup Sugar
1 teaspoon Soda
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Vanilla
cup Molasses
3 Sqs unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 Eggs
½ cup Flour
¾ cup Sour milk

Directions

Cream shortening. Add sugar gradually. Add soda, salt, and vanilla.

Mix in molasses and melted chocolate. Beat in eggs. Blend in flour alternately with sour milk. Pour into 2 well greased and floured 8 inch layer cake pans.

Bake at 375 degrees for 24 minutes. Cool. Ice, if desired.
