Lamb or turkey gyros

Ingredients

| 1 | pounds | Ground lamb or ground turkey |
| 2 | Cloves garlic, crushed | |
| 1½ | Trsp dried oregano leaves, crushed | |
| 1 | teaspoon | Onion powder |
| 1 | teaspoon | Salt |
| ¾ | teaspoon | Pepper |
| 1 | large | Tomato cut in half and then slices |
| 1 | small | Onion thinly sliced |
| 4 | Whole pita pocket breads cut in half and warmed | |
Directions
In bowl combine lamb, spices and mix well shape into two oval ½" thick patties. Place patties on rack in broiler and broil till no longer pink 8-10 minutes..turn once.
