Ingredients

1Part crushed and shelled cardamom
1Part crushed cimmamon sticks
½Part crushed cloves (careful too much or it will dominate the flavor)
1Part crushed and skinned ginger

Directions

Whenever I have attempted to make chai, the proportions are guesswork. So here are the ingredients (and guesswork): Add all ingredients to water and boil. Use this water (strained) for the tea, usually darjeeling. The tea is intended to be served with milk and sugar.
